Description
This course focuses on the Principal Investigator (PI) Responsibilities as they relate to laboratory safety. The module reinforces why it is important for a PI to create and sustain a strong safety culture in their laboratory. The course objectives are to: •Identify key responsibilities of the PI and their designees. •Describe easy, practical steps that a PI can take to strengthen the culture of safety in their laboratory. •Discuss strategies and tools that a PI can use to implement and incorporate safety into the day to day activities occurring in their laboratory. To receive credit for the training participants must complete the brief exam at the end of the module with a score of at least 80%. This course was developed by the Safety Training Consortium, a higher education membership organization founded by research universities, for the purpose of developing high quality safety training for the research community.
