The Hazard Communication class covers the OSHA requirements for the NMSU Hazardous Communication Program.
Course Content Includes:
1. Explains the Hazcom (Right to Know) Program to include the new OSHA Global Harmonization System,
2. Chemical Inventories,
3. Safety Data Sheets,
4. Chemical Labels and Training.
Instruction includes: lecture, handout/booklet, example labels, exercise, slide/video presentation, discussion, PPE.
Who Should Attend: All University employees and others that work with or around chemicals that are found in NMSU shops/trades, agriculture areas and lab operations.
Training frequency: Initial training by EH&S upon job assignment. Additional information or training is provided when new equipment, chemical or other hazards are introduced into the workplace.
