Description | The WPS is a federal regulation (40CFR Part 170) issued by the EPA designed to protect pesticide handlers (mixing, loading or applying pesticides or doing tasks involving direct contact with pesticides).

Course Includes:
•Safety/human health hazard information contained on pesticide labels
•Hazards of pesticides from toxicity and exposure
•Routes of entry into the body
•Signs and symptoms of pesticide poisoning
•Emergency first aid for pesticide injuries or poisonings
•Obtaining emergency medical care
•Routine and emergency decontamination procedures
•Need/use of personal protective equipment
•Prevention, recognition, and first aid treatment of heat-related illness
•Safety requirements for handling, transporting, storing, spill clean-up and disposing of pesticides
•Environmental concerns
•Warnings about taking pesticides home
•Requirements that must be followed by handler employers for their protection and others
