Course Description: The learner will understand key elements of a Hazard Communication program including types of hazards, chemical container labels and markings; and the contents of chemical Safety Data Sheets. (Approx. Length = 45 min)

Course Objectives: After completing this module, the learner will be able to:

· Recognize the purpose of the hazard communication program

· Recognize common physical and health hazards associated with hazardous chemicals

· Identify chemicals and the hazards using container labels, markings and pictograms

· Identify the use and components of chemical Safety Data Sheets

Who Should Attend: Employees who work with or in close proximity to hazardous chemicals and materials as a routine part of their job.

Training Frequency: Initial training upon job assignment and as needed when new chemical hazards are introduced into the workplace
